The purpose of on-line aptitude test system is to take online test in an efficient manner and no time wasting for checking the paper. The main objective of on-line aptitude test system is to efficiently evaluate the candidate thoroughly through a fully automated system that not only saves lot of time but also gives fast results. For students they give papers according to their convenience and time and there is no need of using extra thing like paper, pen etc. This can be used in educational institutions as well as in corporate world. Can be used anywhere any time as it is a web based application (user Location doesn’t matter). No restriction that examiner has to be present when the candidate takes the test.

All enrolees of the Cagayan State University are required to take the College Aptitude Test (CAT). The CAT result serves as a basis for recommendation and admission to a specific course or field of specialization, thus, result must be accurate. The study aimed to develop a computerized College Aptitude Test (CAT) Simple Checker of Cagayan State University-Lasam Campus to facilitate and to reduce the time of the guidance counsellor in checking many aptitude test papers as well as to ensure accuracy of result. It followed the framework of Design Science Research in Information Systems which consists of six steps such as problem identification and motivation, definition of objectives for a solution based on the identified problem, design and development of the system, demonstration of the system to the guidance counsellor, evaluation of the system's functionality and impact and communication which involves documentation and publication. A combination of Visual Basic 6 as the programming language and SQL Server 2005 as the Database Management System (DBMS) were used in the development of the system. As a result, the system provides support to the guidance counsellor in performing the assigned tasks by reducing the time consumed in checking aptitude test papers that makes the guidance counsellor more effective, efficient and productive.

Currently, online test systems have adapted easily to today's technologically advanced world. Examinations are an intrinsic part of the educational process. The evaluations are conducted by teachers manually, regardless of the fact that the tests are conducted online. Our examinations can be classified into two main types of evaluation, namely, objective answer evaluation and subjective answer evaluation. As of now, online answer evaluation is available for the objective questions, hence the manual assessment of the theory answer is a tedious task for the teacher. Aptitude test plays a vital role in assessing the ability of a person to perform various tasks and inculcates the ability of numerical reasoning, logical thinking, speed, accuracy and other such skills. Generating an effective aptitude question paper for aptitude test is a non-trivial task and manual generation of aptitude question paper is a conventional method. In this paper, a novel method is proposed, which automatically generates aptitude-based questions with certain keywords using randomization technique. The proposed system has the feature of generating multiple-related answers including the correct option for every generated question, and at the same time, it verifies the user’s response in real time and generates score. It overcomes the major limitations of the existing automated system where question papers are generated by random selection of questions from question banks prepared by the examiner. The main purpose of this paper was to develop an online examination system suitable for both Academic and Non-Academic examinations. Prior to start the design and development of the system three online examination systems were analyzed to make the newly developed system more flexible and user friendly in the context of Bangladesh. Three Data Flow Diagrams (DFDs) and one E-R diagram have been developed to represent the whole system. Different features of the online examination system are discussed in this paper. The features include user's registration, examination instruction, valid time of examination, time reminder, submission of the answer script, and release of the examination results. The system enables the admin or super admin to create a test from a question bank that comprises different subject areas. Testing of the system is done with ten users with a test that included 20 questions from four subject areas such as Bangla, English, General Knowledge, and Science and Technology. It is a multilingual system that permits users to conduct tests in their mother language.
